So my intention was to write a year-end review every year recalling my favorite trips and photos that I took throughout the past year. And that is what this will be, I just thought I would get around to writing it before April! Where has the time gone? We've already been out on 3 trips this year, and I haven't even had the time to blog about them or go thorough the pics. Aye yi yi!!!

Well 2014 turned out to be a good year for photographing new species for us. There was the Hermit Thrush, Ring-necked Ducks, Redhead Ducks, Savannah Sparrow, Broad-winged Hawk, Palm Warbler, Black and White Warbler, Solitary Sandpiper, Yellow-throated Vireo, Ground Hogs, Vesper Sparrow, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Tufted Titmouse, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Black Bear Cub (and its mama), Red-eyed Vireo, Great Crested Flycatcher, Clay-colored Sparrow, Warbling Vireo, Goldenrod Crab Spider (male), Mourning Warbler, Thread-waisted Wasp, Long Dash Butterfly, Marbled Godwit, Willet, Virginia Ctenucha Moth, Clover Looper Moth, American Avocet, Crawfish, Golden-crowned Kinglet, and Northern Shrike. I feel so fortunate to have been able to have seen and identified over 30 new species this past year. 

We also took several short trips around the state of Minnesota. Including a visit to Jay Cooke State Park, Lake Maria State Park, Lake Marion Regional Park, Piepenburg Regional Park, Jay Cooke State Park, and several trips to the Glacial Lakes trail. We also visited Trempealeau National Wildlife Refuge in Wisconsin, Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge and Waubay National Wildlife Refuge in North Dakota, and Union Slough National Wildlife Refuge in Iowa. 

Our major trip this year as out East to Virginia. We were gone for 10 days and visited Midewind Tallgrass Prairie in Illinois, Rich Mountain Civil War Battlefield, Ball's Bluff, and Harper's Ferry in West Virginia, Corricks Ford Battlefield, Shenandoah National Park, Manassas National Battlefield, and Fredericksburg National Military Park in Virginia, and Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland. It was such a fun trip.

Can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for us!
